The picture is a close up of my face, with an emphasis on my eye.I decided to take this image because it demonstrates the source of my artistic lense. What I see, and how I interpret the world, completely influences the
way that I create. Also, the image of an eye is a go to doodle for me. When I go to sketch I usually start
by drawing an eye.

It doesn’t really tell a story, but it displays emotion. Due to the squinting around the eyes and the heightened cheekbone, it is evident that I am smiling in this photo. Additionally, the
shadows and highlights create depth and visual interest that is cool to look at.
This image has helped my growth as an artist by functioning as my creative eye. I attribute a lot of what I can create and what I know about art to the other things that I have witnessed. I have seen other artists use techniques, and I have been taught things that shape the way I look at the world around me, and that alters what I witness.
