Image 1: Eyelashes

When and how did you stumble upon this, and what do you “relate” to in it?
What is relevant to an appreciation of this image, and does it tell a story?
How has this image served your growth as an artist?
The image is of my dirty mirror. It’s cluttered with stickers, grime, and fake eyelashes.
I look at this a lot, and it reminds me of how fast paced life really is. I relate to this image because it is an expression of myself and the passage of time.
I easily appreciate it because I understand the context of the setting. This is my
mirror; I look into it every day, and I remember peeling the eyelashes from my face and sticking them there. I remember putting those stickers and finger prints on it over a period of years. The image tells a story about time moving forward and things accumulating.

This image has shaped me and contributed to my growth as an artist because it helps me recognize that life is moving forward quickly and hecticly. Just as my mirror is busy and messy, my life is too. This also reflects in my growing as an artist, the whole ordeal is busy and messy, but it keeps moving forward.
